NOTICE FOR ARCHITECTURAL
SERVICES FOR CONSTRUCTION
OF PUESTA DEL SOL
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL


In accordance with RCW 39.80 the Bellevue School District is seeking architectural services for construction of the replacement school for Puesta Del Sol Elementary School. The architectural services will include the collection and development of educational specifications, project design, permitting, construction documents, construction support services and the responsibility for all associated documentation. This project will replace an existing 49,000 SF building with a completely new 80,000 SF facility. The students and staff will relocate for the year of construction July 2019-August 2020. School will need to be completed and ready for occupancy in August of 2020.
Firms interested in being considered should submit 3 copies of the firms capabilities along with Form 330 to Jack McLeod, Director of Facilities and Operations, Bellevue School District, 12037 NE 5th St., Bellevue, Washington 98005 by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018. This notice is the extent of the RFQ and the District is looking for firms qualifications and prior experience. Firms providing qualifications must also provide:
The demonstrated ability to conduct and provide the Educational Specifications for an elementary school in an abbreviated timeframe. Please describe, in detail, your plan for conducting the educational specifications process.
The demonstrated ability to develop schematic design and basic design development documents to the 35% completion level to begin the pre-application process with the City of Bellevue by mid-June, 2018.
A list of specific sub-consultants that you would recommend to ensure that this schedule can be successfully accomplished and why you believe this firm is best suited for this project.
Recent work within the City of Bellevue and experience with the City of Bellevue Design Review and Permitting is required. Firms are not to visit the Puesta del Sol campus or make individual arrangements with the Puesta administration for this initial submittal as we are most interested in relevant, elementary school design experiences. There will be a mandatory meeting for all short-listed firms on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the BSD District offices, located at 12111 NE 1st Street, Bellevue; Room 200.
