Project Description: Proposed amendment to the City of Newcastles Comprehensive Plan to adopt the Newcastle Downtown Strategic Plan and amend zoning for the Downtown zones within the City, and amend Newcastles Municipal Code to update the zoning and land use regulations specific to the Downtown to be consistent with and comply with the vision and goals of Newcastles Downtown Strategic Plan. This proposal also includes amending Comprehensive Plan maps as required.

All interested persons may appear and provide input at the public hearing.
Environmental Review: The City of Newcastle has reviewed the proposed project for probable adverse environmental impacts. An environmental impact statement (EIS) is not required under RCW 43.21C.030(2)(c). This finding is made pursuant to RCW 43.21C, NMC 14.05 and WAC 197-11 after reviewing a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with the lead agency. The responsible official finds this information reasonably sufficient to evaluate the environmental impact of this proposal. This information is available to the public on request. The City issued a DNS pursuant to WAC 197-11-340, on May 8, 2017. The City received no comments during the 14 day comment period which ended on May 22, 2017 and no appeals during the appeal period which ended on June 5, 2017.
